About Luke
Hello! I’m Luke, and I am an incoming freshman at Columbia studying economics, finance, and entrepreneurship. I attended one of the most prestigious high schools in the nation and graduated in the top 2% of the class. I was the President of the #1 math competition team in the nation and have won multiple awards at the state and national level. I earned a perfect score of 1600 on the SAT, and have been recognized as a National Merit Scholar, Coca Cola Scholar (top 150 out of 91,000), and US Presidential Scholar Semifinalist (top 628 out of 3.6 million) based on my recent academic achievements in economics and finance.
Classes
I will offer 2 programs in 2023: Finance Foundations for students aged 14-18 and Entrepreneurship Essentials for students aged 14-18.
Each package includes a complimentary introductory meeting with parents and students to understand the student’s interests and prior economics/finance experience and to create personalized lesson plans that will fully challenge and excite the student(s).
Classes are provided online using Zoom or Google Meet. A computer with reliable Internet connection is required for this course.
Days and times are to be coordinated with the teacher. However, a minimum of 2 classes needs to be taken each week in order to maximize results and ensure that the full package is taken within the defined time frame (refer to the “Dates of Sessions” clause for each package).
For classes with two or more participants, students should have a somewhat similar level of background experience, so that they will all be engaged and comfortable with the pace of the lessons. Note that tutoring two or three kids at the same time can be a great way to enhance learning outcomes while promoting social interaction and collaboration.

The effectiveness of the tutoring sessions is heavily dependent on the student’s effort, dedication, and commitment. While the teacher will offer comprehensive instruction, practice, and support, the ultimate outcome of the sessions will be influenced by the student’s individual involvement and engagement in the learning process. The tutoring package aims to equip students with the necessary tools, resources, and guidance to enhance their skills and knowledge in specific areas.
However, the success of the sessions relies on the student’s active participation, completion of assigned tasks, practice outside of sessions, and active involvement in the learning activities provided by the teacher. It is crucial for the student to come prepared for each session and maintain a proactive approach towards their learning.
