SAT/PSAT or ACT Test Preparation (20H)
SAT/PSAT or ACT Test Preparation (20H)
What’s Included in Our 20-Hour SAT, PSAT & ACT Prep Program
This 10-session package (two hours per session, 20 hours total) gives your child the knowledge, strategies, and confidence to reach their target score on the SAT, PSAT, or ACT. Sessions are limited to a maximum of two students and are tailored to your child’s strengths, weaknesses, and goals.
Built for Today’s Tests
Digital SAT & PSAT: The test has two sections, Reading and Writing, and Math. It is adaptive, so how your child performs on the first module of each section shapes the second. That makes early accuracy and pacing critical. We also teach students how to use the built-in Desmos calculator strategically on math questions.
ACT: The ACT covers English, Math, and Reading, with an optional Science section. We’ll help you decide whether the Science section makes sense based on the colleges your child is targeting.
A Strong Starting Point
Your child begins with an official full-length practice test (College Board’s Bluebook app for the SAT/PSAT, or an official ACT practice test). Along with any past PSAT score reports, this shows exactly where to focus, so every session targets what will raise your child’s score the most.
Targeted Content Review
We focus on the concepts and skills that will move your child’s score the most, using clear explanations, worked examples, and guided practice.
Test-Taking Strategies & Time Management
Your child will learn proven approaches for each question type, especially the ones they’ve historically struggled with, along with pacing techniques to finish every section with confidence.
Homework & Official Practice Tests
Between sessions, students receive assignments to reinforce what they’ve learned, including targeted practice sets and official full-length practice tests (College Board’s Bluebook app for the SAT/PSAT, or official ACT practice tests). Practicing under real conditions builds familiarity with the format and question patterns. Please note that it is both the student’s and parent’s responsibility to ensure all assigned work is completed before each session.
Individualized Attention & Progress Tracking
Sessions are tailored to your child’s learning style and needs, with personalized feedback and extra explanations where they’re needed most. Regular check-ins and practice-test reviews let us measure your child’s improvement and adjust the plan as needed. We strongly encourage students to keep practicing between sessions to get the most out of the program.
Resources for Independent Study
We provide supplementary study guides and practice questions for work between sessions. If your child learns better with paper materials, the tutor may recommend a prep book.
Frequently Asked Questions
Should my child take the SAT or the ACT?
Most colleges accept either test equally. Your tutor will help you choose based on your child’s strengths and first practice results.
When should my child start preparing?
Ideally 2–3 months before the test date. This package is designed to be completed within 10 weeks, with at least one session per week.
Is online prep as effective as in-person?
Yes. The SAT and PSAT are taken on a computer, so practicing online closely mirrors test day. Sessions are live and interactive with an expert tutor.
What if my child needs more than 20 hours?
Additional sessions can be added. Contact us to discuss your child’s goals.
