SAT/PSAT Test Preparation

This 10-session package is specially designed to equip students with the knowledge, strategies, and confidence they need to excel in the SAT/PSAT exam(s). In each two-hour session, we will delve into the various sections of these tests: Critical Reading, Math, and Writing. The content and structure of these sessions will be tailored to the needs and strengths of each student, providing a personalized learning experience that ensures maximum progress.

The package will consist of the following:

Diagnostic Assessment and Individualized Feedback
We will begin with a comprehensive diagnostic assessment to identify your child’s strengths and areas for improvement in each section of the SAT/PSAT. Additionally, we will review your child’s past PSAT responses through the College Board website to understand the specific errors they commonly make on other timed assessments. This analysis will enable us to create lessons and provide targeted feedback/strategies to address their specific weaknesses and improve their performance.

Targeted Content Review and Concept Reinforcement
Based on the diagnostic results and the analysis of past PSAT responses, we will focus on reviewing key concepts and skills essential for success in each section of the exams. We will provide clear explanations and examples, and we will work through practice problems to reinforce their understanding and mastery of the content.

Test-Taking Strategies and Time Management Techniques
Your child will learn effective test-taking strategies and time management techniques to maximize their efficiency during the exam. We will discuss approaches to different question types—including those that your child has historically struggled with—and develop specific strategies to address those challenges. By focusing on their areas of improvement, we will build their confidence and ability to navigate the test effectively.

Practice Tests from Previous Years
To further familiarize your child with the SAT/PSAT format and question types, we will provide them with a series of practice tests from previous years. Please note that practice exams will be given as homework to complete outside of the sessions, and it is both the student and parent’s responsibility to ensure that they come prepared with each completed assessment. By practicing with real exam questions, your child will become more accustomed to the types of questions that often repeat themselves on the SAT/PSAT. This familiarity will enhance their ability to identify patterns, apply appropriate strategies, and improve their overall test performance.

Individualized Attention and Progress Tracking
Sessions will be tailored to your child’s unique learning style and needs, ensuring an interactive and engaging learning experience. We will provide personalized feedback, addressing their specific areas for improvement and providing additional explanations and practice. Regular progress assessments will be conducted to monitor your child’s growth and track their improvement.

Additional Resources and Independent Study Support
We will provide supplementary materials, including study guides, practice questions, and online resources, to support your child’s independent study outside of our sessions. These resources will help them reinforce their understanding, practice further, and continue their progress between sessions. We strongly encourage students to continue to practice their test-taking skills and strategies outside of the package with such resources, as to ensure maximum success!
