This 10-session French immersion program will guide students through essential language skills, including pronunciation, basic grammar, everyday vocabulary, and conversational practice, while exploring French culture in an interactive and engaging way.
Session 1: Introduction to French Sounds & Greetings
-Introduction to class
-Focus on basic pronunciation and phonetic sounds
-Fun exercises with greetings, introducing oneself, and simple questions (name, age, how are you)
Session 2: Numbers, Days & Months
-Counting from 0 to 100, simple math in French
-Learning how to say days of the week and months of the year
-Fun activities like creating a calendar or playing bingo with numbers
Session 3: Colors, Family & Pets Vocabulary
-Learning colors through flashcards and role-play
-Vocabulary for family members and pets
-Role-playing activities to introduce family and describe pets
Session 4: Food & Simple Conversations
-Vocabulary for fruits, vegetables, and meals
-Introduction to ordering food and talking about favorite meals
-Role-play: ordering food at a café or restaurant
Session 5: Basic Verbs & Present Tense
-Introduction to common verbs (e.g., être, avoir, aller, manger)
-Fun sentence-building games to practice present tense
-Creating simple sentences like “I eat an apple” or “She has a cat”
Session 6: Hobbies, Likes & Dislikes
-Vocabulary for hobbies and sports (e.g., jouer, lire, danser)
-Expressing likes and dislikes using “aimer” and “ne pas aimer”
-Engaging in a discussion and talk about favorite hobbies
Session 7: Describing People & Objects
-Adjectives to describe people (tall, short, happy, funny) and objects (big, small, beautiful)
-Practicing adjective agreement (gender & number)
-Describing favorite cartoon or movie characters
Session 8: My Daily Routine
-Vocabulary for common daily activities (getting up, brushing teeth, going to school)
-Learning reflexive verbs in simple sentences like “Je me lève à 7 heures”
-Storytelling activity where students describe a day in their life
Session 9: Asking Questions & Forming Sentences
-How to ask questions like “What is this?” or “Where are you?”
-Practice forming basic questions and answers through fun Q&A games
-Role-playing to simulate asking for directions or information
Session 10: Fun Conversation Practice & Cultural Activities
-Exploring French culture: learning about French festivals, food, or cities
